John and Hallie Quinn Graduate Student Fellowship

The xs/fs lab has received an endowment to provide a yearly fellowship to help fund the research of economics graduate students interested in pursuing experimental research. This fellowship will be awarded on a yearly basis to graduate students through a competitive process. The goal of this program will be to encourage and reward high quality experimental work in any related area.

Criteria for Application: Must be a graduate student in the economics department who will be in their third or higher year during which time the funding will be active and who will be pursuing research interests in the broad field of experimental economics.

Application Procedure: By March 30th, interested applicants should submit a proposal (not to exceed 10 pages) describing their current dissertation topic along with a description of current progress and a plan for the following year. If your main advisor is not a faculty member affiliated with the lab, you will also need a letter of reference from them.

Award Amount: In the first year of the program, 2007-2008, the Fellowship award will be $500. These funds can be used as research funds to pay for experiments as part of a dissertation or it can be used as salary money that would be added on top of any funding the student already receives through the lab or the department. Future awards are expected to be higher.
